Personal Life

  • I was born and raised in Tennessee and was raised Catholic until I married my Jewish husband, Michael Shapiro, PhD, in 1984. Since then, we’ve worked along side each other almost every day of our professional lives. In the years since our baptisms in the late 1980s, we have taught workshops, both domestically and abroad, on issues related to marriage, adoption, mental health, and parenting; all in a biblical context. We have three children (all of whom are disciples of Jesus) and five grandchildren.
